LOWERING THE LAKE LEVEL BEGINNING OCTOBER 1ST

Lake Lowering Information for Boaters and/or Lakefront Property Owners

As part of the ongoing efforts to use non-chemical methods of controlling invasive weed growth, the process of lowering the lake water level will begin over the next several weeks.  Beginning around October 1st, the dam drain pipe will be opened 25% to start the process of lowering of level of the lake. As the water recedes quickest along the shallow shorelines, boats that draw more than 24 inches should be removed no later than October 15th. Around October 15th,
the dam drain pipe will be opened 50%. All remaining boats should be removed no later than October 22nd. Then,
around the end of October, the valve will be opened to 100% to try to expediently lower the water level before the first freeze sets in. By November 1, all shoreline equipment (small boats, docks, etc) should be secured for winter.
